Thousands Protest SB 1070 in Phoenix, Arizona
Despite the intense heat of the Arizona desert, more than 10,000 persons walked five miles to protest the Arizona immigration statute-- SB 1070. Opponents of the draconian legislation came from around the country and some called for President Obama to intervene and resolve the matter. Four persons had to be hospitalized because of the heat.
